The longer of the two normally contains a complete list of your most important group and or solo exhibitions, what collections your works are included in, as well as all of the standard information. Art History applicants will want a list of their publications, papers written, papers presented, etc.

While your Statement is your unique voice and is of the utmost importance, a Letter of Recommendation brings reassurance and confirmation of what you are capable of from an objective viewer who knows you.
